An all-in-one process that includes
BUSINESS COACHING • MESSAGE DEVELOPMENT • LOGO & WEBSITE DESIGN • POST-LAUNCH SUPPORT
Many thoughtful entrepreneurs reach a point where their work is evolving, but their website no longer reflects where they’re headed.
Design & Thrive is a guided process that helps you clarify your work, refine your message, and translate that clarity into a website that feels aligned with the business you’re building.
As a double-certified business coach with over 25 years of design experience, I’ll work with you to shape both the strategy and the design so your website reflects the depth and uniqueness of your work.
Together we’ll uncover the confidence, uniqueness, and polish that’s already there so your business reflects who you are, not every other goldfish in your industry.
Past clients have included entrepreneurs across multiple fields including psychology, special education, law, coaching, environmentalism, engineering, travel, publishing, and recruiting.
Regardless of the industry, the underlying challenges are often the same: figuring out how to clearly talk about what we do, building the right systems around our work, and creating a website we feel proud to share.

From Clarity to Launch:
A Guided Process
Design & Thrive unfolds through a structured four-phase process that moves from clarity to messaging to design.
Each phase builds on the one before it. We begin by clarifying the foundation of your work, then translate that clarity into your messaging and positioning, and finally bring everything to life through your website.
Phase 1: Foundational Clarity
You’ll receive six 55-minute business coaching sessions focused on clarifying your work, your clients, and how you talk about what you do.
During this phase we’ll explore:
the foundations of your messaging and your client journey and process
what makes your work stand out in a crowded field
who your clients are (and who they’re not) so you can target them clearly
how to structure your products and services so people understand how to work with you
how to talk about your work, pitch it, and begin attracting the right clients
Any other challenges that may arise as an entrepreneur
Phase 2: Branding
During this phase we explore the visual direction of your brand and translate the insights from our coaching into design.
Together we’ll:
explore color palettes and visual styles that resonate with you
create a visual direction board to guide the brand
develop logo and palette concepts grounded in the work we’ve already done
select typography that reflects the tone of your business
From there, I’ll begin building the initial Squarespace website design template that will serve as the foundation for your site.
Phase 3: Messaging
At this stage, you’ll complete a guided content workbook that helps translate our coaching work into clear website messaging and copy. This ensures the design phase moves smoothly and that the message on your site truly reflects your work.
This workbook guides you through writing the core pages of your website in a structured, manageable way.
Most clients work through it over a few weeks, drafting their messaging as they go.
Phase 4: Design & Launch
Once your messaging and website copy are complete, we move into the design phase.
Because the foundational work is already done, this stage becomes much smoother and more focused. Instead of struggling to figure out what to say, we can concentrate on translating your voice and ideas into a clear, visually engaging website. This is where your work truly comes to life.

Reflections from Past Clients
“I highly recommend Scott”
"Scott's structured (yet flexible) approach really helped me drill down and collaborate on the specifics for my brand and business and he was a great thought partner in clarifying my vision. I am extremely happy with how Scott translated my broad design ideas into a brand and website that really reflects who I am. Finally, Scott's coaching allowed me to understand and break through some tough blocks that were preventing me from fully moving ahead with my business. Throughout the whole process, I always felt supported and Scott went above and beyond in both website design and business coaching. I highly recommend Scott!"

“My highest possible recommendation”
“I was referred to Scott by a colleague who could not stop talking about how much she benefited from his help. From a technology perspective the outcome of our work felt like a bi-product of our ongoing dialogue about my business, style, goals, etc. and in the end, the most unexpected and important outcome of Scott's constructive and strategic coaching was not the technology. It was a laser-sharp clarity about my vision for the business and the message I hoped to portray to prospective clients. Because Scott helped me focus on what matters in such a professional, supportive, and responsive way, he has my highest possible recommendation.”

“I don’t know where to start with how much I recommend Scott for his exceptional ability to listen, empathize, and understand my goals and desires in redesigning my travel agency website. His vision and attentive listening resulted in a professional and luxurious website design that has impressed not only other industry leaders but also businesses seeking a similar partner to work with them.
Since the website launch, our business has more than doubled, making the initial cost of working with Scott minimal and continuously generating monthly returns. I highly recommend Scott, and will work with him again and again in the future.”

“Above and beyond my expectations.”
"Before I started working with Scott, my website was an outdated, poorly running mess! Since working with him, it has become a beautiful work of modern art, helping me to clarify my message to clients and take my professionalism to a new level. Scott listened to my ideas and offered great additions I wouldn't have thought of on my own. He is also unusually prompt and responsive, answering every question I had and going above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend Scott's services to anyone wanting a facelift for their website or a fresh start for their business."

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Design & Thrive typically unfolds over several months. The process begins with six coaching sessions focused on clarifying your work and messaging. From there we move into branding, content development, and finally website design and launch.
Most clients complete the full process in about 3–4 months, though the exact timing can vary depending on scheduling and how quickly the content workbook is completed.
-
It’s both. The process begins with coaching sessions focused on clarifying your work, voice, and positioning. Once that foundation is in place, we move into branding, messaging development, and finally the design of your website.
The goal is not just to create a website, but to ensure the site clearly reflects the work you’re building.
-
This program tends to work best for people who are:
starting a thoughtful new business or practice
evolving the direction of their work
ready for a website that reflects the next chapter of their career
looking for both strategic clarity and a finished website
-
The cost of the program does not include a Squarespace membership. Squarespace offers several pricing tiers, and we typically use the Business plan or higher. You can view the various plans here, however I’ll guide you through selecting the right plan during the design phase.
-
Squarespace is one of the most intuitive website platforms available. It allows you to easily make updates, add pages, and maintain your site without needing technical expertise.
As a Squarespace Circle member, I’m also able to offer clients 20% off their first year of an annual plan.
Compared to platforms like WordPress, Squarespace includes many features and integrations already built in, which simplifies the long-term management of your site.
-
I always encourage past clients to reach out if questions come up. If it’s something simple, I’m often happy to point you in the right direction or show you how to make the change yourself.
For more involved updates, I offer ongoing website support at $75/hour.
-
I don’t write website copy or provide photography directly. However, the Design & Thrive process is designed to help you develop your messaging clearly.
During the program you’ll complete a guided content workbook that helps translate our coaching work into the core copy for your website.
For photography, Squarespace offers partnerships with both free and paid stock photo libraries. I’m also happy to review any professional photos you already have.
-
If you already have a website or domain name, we can usually connect it to your new Squarespace site or transfer it over completely.
If you’re currently using WordPress, we can often import your existing pages into Squarespace (depending on the version and setup). Any limitations can be discussed during our consultation call.
-
Squarespace includes strong built-in SEO tools, which means your site can begin appearing in search results fairly quickly for things like your name or business name.
Ranking for broader search terms takes time and depends on ongoing content, strategy, and competition. During the program I’ll walk you through the basics of SEO so you understand how to approach this long term.
-
In my experience (and I’ve tried this), I’ve learned first-hand the value of the full program. The results are better, the website launches more quickly, the messaging is more on-point, and it’s a much smoother process. As a result, I do not offer website design as a standalone service.
-
Because the scope of a website can vary, final pricing is discussed during the consultation call once we’ve talked through the size and complexity of the site.
Most Design & Thrive projects fall in the range of $7k–$9k, depending on the number of pages and any custom elements involved.
